Brainerd Youth Association

“Sports for Kids”

Brainerd Youth Association exists to help build kids to be successful, motivated and productive adults. We feel that many inner-city youth are not benefiting from athletic possibilities which can bring higher education and business opportunities. Too many of our youth are not self-motivated and lack the drive to accomplish a full life.

People in Chattanooga know there is a problem with our youth, yet we are not striving to educate them to their fullest, outside the school system. Early ages are where we can really influence our children. We will not only benefit the youth, but we will benefit the city. By providing a good positive environment we hope to guide kids to a successful life by building dreams and hopes.

PURPOSE

To have an association to provide an athletic program that will educate parents and youth with tools for life like team work, commitment, responsibility, leadership and respectfulness.

AIM

To improve the attitudes of kids through positive experiences in athletics.

We have reached most of these.

IMMEDIATE GOALS

  1. To encourage parental involvement.

  2. To provide a wholesome recreational environment.

  3. To bring about improved character and morals in our youth.

  4. To improve attitudes of athletes to strive for academic excellence.

  5. To encourage inner-racial and community gatherings.

  6. To teach fundamentals of team work.

  7. To provide positive role models.

  8. To recognize our past players.

  9. To provide an athletic program realizing what winning is and creating how to win attitudes for life.

  10. Our greatest dream is to grow the Thanksgiving weekend Choo-Choo youth football bowl, into the largest bowl in the South. When this occurs, the financial gains will able us to assist parents that can’t afford the cost of fees and equipment.

List of former players that went on to high schools and performed to a high level in athletics.
